On-line course “Challenges of Organic Arable Farming” Call for applications

OK-Net-Arable is a project aiming at increasing the productivity and the quality of organic arable farming in Europe, by improving exchange of knowledge among farmers, farm advisers and scientists. In this framework an online course including material collected and produced by the project will be delivered. The objective of this course, along all its modules, is to enable students and professionals to familiarize with the latest insights, context and concepts of Organic Arable Farming and to provide them new tools and practices to tackle current difficulties related to production and protection.

New platform for farmers to organic solutions and exchange knowledge launched

Brussels, 3 October 2016 – Today a new platform – OK-Net Arable – aimed at filling the gap in the exchange of information between farmers across Europe was launched. The complexity of organic farming requires farmers to have a very high level of knowledge and skills. But exchange on organic farming techniques remains limited. Survey for organic farm advisors

OK-Net Arable has launched a survey to get better insight in which sources and tools organic farm advisers use to gather information, and to exchange knowledge with farmers. The results of the survey will help to identify among the huge variety of already existing advisory materials which ones work the best and how they can best be disseminated.

Organic farmers, advisers and researchers set priorities for the future

On 28-29 May, the European Commission gathered over 170 farmers, farm advisors and researchers from all over Europe to prioritise needs for research and innovation in the organic food and farming sector.
